Fitz Roy Spring-Summer 2023
This season VEJA creates a shoe
designed for hiking: the Fitz Roy.
Fitz Roy is a tribute to the mountain range of the same name. Hikers from all over the world dream of climbing this emblematic Patagonian peak, located on the border of Argentina and Chile. First named by the Tehuelche Indians as “the smoking mountain”, two French mountaineers succeeded in climbing it for the first time in 1952.

To design this shoe, VEJA has developed a brand new material called Trek-Shell. Its tightly woven structure is reminiscent of the Cordura material created in the 1930s, which was designed to be very durable. This technical fabric is also used for outdoor equipment such as backpacks or ski boots and gloves.
The Fitz Roy is a technical hiking shoe with a solid and stable sole, thanks to multidirectional crampons and a Rock-Plate. Its Trek-Shell upper made of 100% recycled polyester is resistant and water-resistant: its tightly woven fabric is treated with a PFC-free durable water repellent.
This shoe, designed for mountain activities, can also be worn in a more urban setting thanks to its bold style and wide choice of colors.
For the launch of the VEJA hiking shoe, rather than hiring models for a photoshoot, we preferred to do it our way:
7 VEJA team members went to the Alps to test the pairs.
The Fitz Roy is 43% biobased and recycled.
Made in Brazil.
